Kilemakyaro Lodge
The Kilemakyaro Lodge is situated at the slope of Kilimanjaro, 1000 feet above sea level. From every spot of the lodge you will have a unique few on the Kilimanjaro. The lodge lies in the midst of a coffee plantation (www.kilimanjarosafari.com).The guests are accommodated in romantic huts. The food is served in a renovated farmhouse of the plantation. Four years ago Mr Minde, of the Chagga people from Kibosho acquired the ruins of the farm and has since then done wonderful things to the plantation, the huts and farmhouse. We arrange safaris to the north of Tanzania and to Kenia, which are organized by Laitolya Tours & Safaris, a touring company that is also owned by Mr Minde (by the way, Kilemakyaro translates as the travel, which will leave footsteps on your heart). Early explorers from Europe are told to have misunderstood the meaning of the word Kilemakyaro by interpreting it to be the name of the mountain-one of many explanations for the naming of Kilimanjaro.

Hatari Lodge

Two Germans, Marlis & Jörg Gabriel own and operate the Hatari Lodge, situated at Mt. Meru (www.hatarilodge.com). The name of the lodge already indicates that this place is special in an artistic kind of way. Every room is furnished and equipped differently-their main characteristic is its 70´s style. We have integrated the Hatari Lodge as a possible stay in the KiliCircle-Tour KiliCircle-Tour. Everyone who wants to enjoy luxury in a unique way can choose to take the bike tour for only 9 days and stay three nights and two days at Mt. Meru.

Ndarakwai Ranch
Margot & Peter Jones from the UK live and work at their own ranch Ndarakawai, which is situated between the Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru (www.ndarakwai.com). Their principle aim is to combine tourism with environmental work.
Peter and Margot’ concept is to find economic as well as ecological rational solutions to the problems of modern tourism in Africa. Their main aim is to protect nature and the local animal diversity ensuring at the same time, that workers from the neighbouring African communities profit from tourism. 20 $ of every lodging goes to the Kilimanjaro Conservancy Fond (www.kiliconservancy.org). At the evening while sitting at the fireplace the guests are able to listen the nightly voice of the savanna. The night is spent in comfortable tents, where two firm beds, a shower and a toilet are set up.
Margot & Peter organize safaris out of the ordinary, which take at least 7 days, like the walking safari to Lake Natron or a safari on horse back. Please inform us, if you would like to attain more detailed information.

MKSafaris
This Tanzanian tour operator is in Tanzanian-British hands (www.mksafaris.com) and specializes in trips to Sansibar and safaris to the south of Tanzania. We recommend a stay in Sansibar for 4-5 days at the northern peak of the island, completing the trip with a day in Stone Town. Some of the less commercialized but very interesting destinations in the South are: Ruaha Nationalpark, Lake Nyasa and Rungwe Valley.

„I, Heritage“ - Art in Moshi
We also like to recommend Issakari and Specioza Ngoma and their wonderful shop „I, Heritage“ in Moshi, close to the market. Here you can find African Art of a very high standard for a reasonable price. For special requests and wishes they are the perfect people to turn to, since they both are creative artists and have also good connection to other providers. Und „Rasta“ steht selbstbewusst zum neuen Namen des Ladens: „Ja, Kulturgeschichte, das bin ich!“
